Most people have life experience or money.
It’s rare to find both!
Reading non fiction helps a lot but you need life experience as well if you want to happy, balanced and successful.
Money gives you freedom, but if your parents give it to you and they don’t make you value it then you won’t be able to appreciate it.
Most families don’t have the opportunity to spend much time together because they haven’t figured out how to have time freedom and financial freedom.
A 25 year old that’s lived away from their parents for a few years will be a lot more productive and resourceful with half a million dollars than a 25 year old that’s always lived at home with their parents.
My point is that if you want to be successful then you need to be resourceful.
You need knowledge and money to be successful.
There are three ways of gaining knowledge.
- From life’s experiences
- From university
- From textbooks
People that only gain knowledge from university never amount to much, people that are flexible and open to learning from textbooks and from real life experiences succeed a lot more.
A lot of entrepreneurs will criticise universities and people that choose to learn and grow at a university, but you need to read textbooks and have real experiences in the real world to be really successful and happy.
University isn’t the only path to success, but you’ll never be successful if you can’t sit down and read a book that’s not for entertainment purposes.
If you have self discipline and you can force yourself to do things that are uncomfortable sometimes then you’ll be able to sit down and read a book!
Exercise is also very important, I find that people that exercise and read non fiction books regularly go a lot further in life.
You need both to be successful, you have to train your body and your mind…
